@ARC67 Thank you for confirming that information. Since resetting the camera settings and the Zoom function does not work in Safe Mode. Your next option would be to perform a Factory Reset the device. I know this is not the ideal step to take, but this will reset the entire device back to its factory settings. Test the camera after reset, if the zoom still does not work, then a service repair may be required. Just remember to back up the device, so there won't be any lost data during the reset or possible service repair.

The recent update to my mobile device has not introduced any issues with the camera functionality.

Have you attempted to reset your Camera application? To do so, open the camera, navigate to settings, and select "reset settings." This action will restore the camera application to its default configurations.

Just another way for Samsung to rip us all off they will probably try saying it's a hardware issue! My camera **bleep** up my spark program and i lost money because of it no way to uninstall the 8.5 ui update that caused the problem.

Hey there, ARC67! To add to @Pianodude58 post, you can also boot your device in Safe Mode and test to see if the camera still freezes when zooming to take a picture. This mode disables any and all third-party apps from running, which helps determine if an app could be the cause. Follow this article here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003495/

If you are also experiencing the freezing when zooming on a third-party app that uses your camera, it's recommended performing a clear cache and data on that app. Here is an article providing steps on how to do so. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001372/

Let me know if this helps!

I have tried the safe mode and the zoom did not work for me. Regular camera functions did.
