Contacts missing

My contacts are missing, when I open contacts it has Microsoft exchange above page, I have done manual syncing, check appropiate apps are on, , backed up phone,  numbers and contacts are in phone saved on sim but on,y visible when I search by name. I hope you are able to help resolve this .regards Margaret

You should be able to save them in the contacts app not used exchange for contacts before I would try using the contacts app

Go to the phone app, click the tree dots, and select "View by storage location" and check which one has all you contacts.
