Galaxy S24Hey, thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. I would be baffled if my contacts just started disappearing on me. Usually stems from a syncing glitch or a hidden view setting rather than the contacts actually being deleted. First, I would recommend clearing the cache. A corrupted app cache can cause display glitches where only numbers show up.
> Go to Settings > Apps > Contacts.
> Tap Storage > Clear cache (do not select "Clear data" as this may remove local-only contacts).
> Restart your phone.
Next, I would check the contacts settings. Sometimes the phone is set to only show contacts from a specific account (like an old SIM card or a secondary email).
> Open the Contacts app.
> Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top left.
> Look at the top of the menu; ensure it says All contacts.
> If a specific account is selected, tap it and change it back to All contacts to see if the missing names reappear.
The only other thing I can think of is testing your phone in Safe Mode and seeing if the contact comes back. This way, we can see if there is some kind of 3rd party app that is adding to this issue. If this doesn't help, I would recommend checking with your carrier to see if they are aware of this matter.
1) Open the Power Menu: Simultaneously press and hold the Side (Power) button and the Volume Down button until the power options appear on the screen.
2) Access Safe Mode: In the menu, touch and hold the Power off icon until the Safe mode prompt appears.
3) Confirm: Tap the Safe mode icon to confirm. The phone will automatically restart.
4) Verify: Once the phone reboots, you will see "Safe mode" displayed in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Be sure to click " โ Accept as Solution" when you find an answer that works for you.
