Contacts went missing

We just got Samsung S24 Ultra's last Friday. My Husband's phone all of a sudden, has lost majority of his contacts. He is a school principal and had many of his employees numbers in it. Has anyone else experienced this and of so, how did you solve this very important issue?

Are his contacts being synced with his Google account?

Go to Settings->Accounts and Backup->Manage accounts->Google->Sync account and make sure sync is on for his contacts, and see when the last time they were synced.

it didn''t work for me. My sync data was already on.

Make sure you have all your google accounts synced properly.
