Official Feature Request: Advanced Customization and Personalization for Samsung One UI and Good Lock

To: Samsung Electronics โ€” One UI Development Team, Good Lock Development Team, and Galaxy Software Experience Team

Subject: Proposal for Advanced System-Wide Customization, Fingerprint Animations, Dynamic Wallpapers, and Continued Support for Existing Galaxy Flagship Devices

Device of Interest: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Regarding: Future One UI Updates and Good Lock Enhancements

Dear Samsung Development Team,

I am writing to respectfully submit a detailed proposal regarding the future development of Samsung One UI and its personalization capabilities.

First, I would like to express my appreciation for Samsung's continued innovation in smartphone technology. The Galaxy S Ultra series offers impressive hardware, and One UI provides a refined, functional, and reliable software experience.

I particularly appreciate Samsung's Good Lock platform, which demonstrates the company's commitment to giving users greater control over their devices.

However, I believe there is an opportunity for Samsung to take personalization significantly further.

Modern smartphones are no longer simply communication devices. They are personal digital environments that reflect their owners' creativity, preferences, and individuality.

While One UI already offers numerous customization options, certain visual elements remain relatively restricted compared with personalization features available in competing interfaces, including OPPO's ColorOS.

My proposal is not to copy another manufacturer's interface. Instead, I would like Samsung to develop its own advanced customization ecosystem that preserves One UI's distinctive design identity while offering greater freedom of expression.

I respectfully propose the following improvements.

1. Advanced Fingerprint Animation Customization

One of my highest-priority requests is the introduction of a dedicated fingerprint animation customization system.

Currently, users have limited control over the visual effects displayed when interacting with the fingerprint sensor.

I would appreciate the following features:

- A collection of fingerprint recognition animations, including Ripple, Wave, Neon, Glow, Particle, Pulse, and other creative effects.
- The ability to customize animation colors, brightness, size, and duration.
- Adjustable animation speed and visual intensity.
- Support for custom fingerprint icons and visual styles.
- The ability to preview fingerprint animations before applying them.
- Optional fingerprint effects that match the selected wallpaper or system theme.
- A setting to disable additional animations for users who prefer a minimalist interface.

Ideally, Samsung could introduce a dedicated Fingerprint Animation Studio, either directly within One UI or through a new Good Lock module.

This would allow users to personalize an interaction they experience multiple times every day.

I understand that fingerprint authentication involves security-sensitive hardware and software. Therefore, I am requesting customization of the visual presentation only, without modifying or compromising the underlying biometric authentication process.

2. Expanded Lock and Unlock Animations

I would also like Samsung to expand the customization options available when locking and unlocking a Galaxy device.

Suggested improvements include:

- More unlock transition effects, including Ripple, Zoom, Fade, Wave, Expand, Slide, and other styles.
- Adjustable animation duration, direction, and speed.
- Customizable transitions between the Always On Display, Lock Screen, and Home Screen.
- Smooth animations synchronized with fingerprint authentication.
- Wallpaper-based unlock transitions.
- The ability to select different animations for locking and unlocking the device.
- Optional simplified animations for improved accessibility and performance.

These features could be integrated into the existing LockStar module or introduced through a dedicated animation customization tool.

The goal is to make unlocking a Galaxy smartphone feel more personalized, visually appealing, and consistent with the user's chosen design.

3. Advanced Dynamic Wallpaper and Depth Effects

Wallpapers are among the most visible and important aspects of smartphone personalization.

I would like Samsung to expand its wallpaper customization capabilities by introducing:

- Interactive and animated wallpapers.
- Advanced 3D parallax and depth effects.
- AI-assisted subject and background separation.
- Layered wallpapers where the subject can appear in front of the lock screen clock.
- Support for animated photos and short video wallpapers, where technically feasible.
- Smooth transitions between Lock Screen and Home Screen wallpapers.
- Customizable wallpaper movement based on device orientation.
- Adjustable animation intensity and playback behavior.
- Additional controls for wallpaper brightness, blur, and visual effects.

I would especially appreciate the ability to create a unified visual experience in which the wallpaper, clock, fingerprint animation, and unlock transition work together.

Samsung's existing Wonderland module provides a valuable foundation for such functionality.

I hope Samsung will consider expanding it into a more comprehensive wallpaper design environment.

4. Greater Lock Screen and Always On Display Customization

I would appreciate more creative control over the Lock Screen and Always On Display.

Requested features include:

- More clock styles, fonts, sizes, and layouts.
- Greater freedom to position Lock Screen elements.
- Advanced clock animations and transitions.
- Customizable notification appearance.
- Additional widget layouts and placement options.
- More AOD clock and visual designs.
- Optional animated AOD elements with appropriate battery-saving limitations.
- Customizable transitions between AOD and Lock Screen.
- Better synchronization between wallpaper colors and interface elements.

Ideally, users should be able to create and save multiple complete Lock Screen designs and switch between them easily.

5. System-Wide Animation Customization

Another major request is greater control over system animations.

I would like Samsung to consider introducing a dedicated System Animation Studio.

Possible features could include:

- Customizable application opening and closing animations.
- Adjustable transition speed and motion curves.
- Different animation styles for navigating between applications.
- Customizable folder opening and closing effects.
- Optional notification panel animations.
- Additional Home Screen transition effects.
- Customizable visual transitions between major interface elements.
- The ability to choose between minimalist, smooth, dynamic, and expressive animation styles.

These settings should remain optional, allowing users to preserve Samsung's default interface whenever preferred.

I also recommend that Samsung maintain performance, accessibility, and battery efficiency as priorities when developing these features.

6. Unified Personalization and Theme Creation

Currently, many customization features are distributed across One UI settings, Galaxy Themes, and individual Good Lock modules.

While these tools are useful, a more unified experience could make advanced personalization easier and more accessible.

I propose the development of a One UI Personalization Studio.

This could allow users to customize the following elements within a single interface:

- Wallpapers and wallpaper transitions.
- Fingerprint recognition animations.
- Lock and unlock effects.
- Lock Screen and AOD layouts.
- System accent colors.
- Application icons and icon shapes.
- Quick Panel appearance.
- Notification effects.
- Home Screen layouts.
- Selected system animations.

Users could create complete personalization profiles, save them, and switch between different designs.

Samsung could also consider allowing users to share compatible themes and customization profiles through an official community platform.

Such a system would combine creative freedom with the consistency and reliability of One UI.

7. Expand Good Lock Rather Than Requiring Third-Party Modifications

I strongly believe Samsung's existing Good Lock ecosystem is one of its greatest advantages.

Instead of requiring users to rely on unofficial modifications, Samsung could provide additional customization options through officially supported Good Lock modules.

Potential additions include:

- Fingerprint Animation Studio.
- System Animation Studio.
- Advanced Wallpaper Studio.
- Unified Theme Creator.

These modules could provide advanced functionality while maintaining device security and compatibility.

Users who prefer the standard One UI experience would not need to install or enable them.

This approach could make advanced customization accessible without requiring root access or unsupported system modifications.

8. Support for Existing Galaxy Flagship Devices โ€” Especially Galaxy S24 Ultra

This is one of the most important aspects of my proposal.

I respectfully request that Samsung consider making these customization features available not only on future Galaxy smartphones but also on existing flagship devices, particularly the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra remains a capable flagship smartphone with powerful hardware.

Many of the proposed features primarily involve software-based visual customization.

I understand that certain advanced functions may require hardware-specific optimizations, additional development, or compatibility testing.

However, I hope Samsung will evaluate each feature individually rather than automatically restricting new personalization capabilities to the latest devices.

Where technically feasible, I would appreciate support through:

- Future One UI updates.
- Good Lock module updates.
- Galaxy Store application updates.
- Device-specific optimization for previous flagship generations.

Samsung's long-term software support commitment is an important reason customers place confidence in Galaxy flagship devices.

Extending meaningful personalization improvements to existing devices would further strengthen that confidence.

In particular, I respectfully request that the Galaxy S24 Ultra be considered during the development and compatibility testing of these features.

9. Expected Benefits for Samsung and Galaxy Users

I believe these improvements could provide several meaningful benefits.

Greater user satisfaction: Customers would have more freedom to personalize their smartphones according to their preferences.

Stronger brand differentiation: Samsung could develop a distinctive customization experience that builds upon One UI's existing strengths.

Improved customer loyalty: Continued feature improvements for existing flagship devices could encourage long-term confidence in Samsung products.

Greater creative expression: Users could create personalized smartphone experiences rather than relying exclusively on predefined themes.

A stronger Good Lock ecosystem: New customization tools could further establish Good Lock as a leading platform for advanced Android personalization.

Competitive software experience: More flexible personalization could help Samsung respond to evolving user expectations while maintaining its own design philosophy.

10. Final Request

I respectfully ask Samsung's One UI and Good Lock development teams to consider the following priorities:

1. Introduce advanced fingerprint animation customization.
2. Expand lock and unlock transition options.
3. Improve dynamic wallpaper, depth effects, and wallpaper transitions.
4. Provide greater control over Lock Screen and Always On Display designs.
5. Introduce optional system-wide animation customization.
6. Develop a unified personalization and theme creation experience.
7. Expand the official Good Lock ecosystem with additional customization modules.
8. Extend supported features to existing flagship smartphones, especially the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

I understand that implementing these improvements requires development resources, security evaluation, performance optimization, and device compatibility testing.

I am not requesting that every feature be introduced immediately.

Rather, I hope Samsung will consider these ideas as part of the long-term development roadmap for One UI and Good Lock.

If possible, I would appreciate confirmation that this feedback has been received and forwarded to the appropriate development or product planning team.

I would also welcome the opportunity to provide further suggestions or examples if they would be useful.

I believe Samsung has the technical expertise and software ecosystem necessary to deliver an exceptionally flexible and polished personalization experience.

Thank you for taking the time to review this proposal and for continuing to improve the Galaxy experience.

I sincerely hope these suggestions will be considered for future One UI and Good Lock updates.

Yours faithfully,

A Samsung Galaxy Enthusiast
