Google Messaging app issues

I'm really bothered that Samsung is doing away with their messaging app and going to Google. I stay away from all things Google and am wondering what app I will be using. Any idea why this is happening?

Not everyone has Samsung phones so Google message works with all android but they'll have work with Samsung to integrate some Samsung message features into Google

If you want to stay away from all things Google, might I suggest an iPhone.

The phone you are using is running Android, a Google product.

Do you also stay away from the "Google" PlayStore, "Google" Maps?

Google maps track you, dontcha know?  And, the Play store knows what you download 😬

I do not use Google maps if I can avoid it. I use Waze or the internet or my auto GPS. I only use the playstore if there is no other alternative. The only reason I still have a Google email is because my former employer uses it and I need it for my retirement I for that they send out.

I actually had a bit of an argument with someone on here a long while ago.  I remember that Waze was bought and swallowed up by Google and a lot of Waze info informs Google maps, but I think Waze operates independently and doesn't (if you really believe that) glom up the same tracking data.  But, all maps (by their nature) track you - it's what's done with the data that counts.
