Samsung update broke Android Auto

The latest update, March 2026, made Android Auto unusable in my car! It was fine before the update, but after, it no longer works. Thought it may be the USB cable but I tried several that I had and even got a new one that is specifically for Android Auto but still won't work. It is a data transfer and charging cable. I'm literally lost without it. My car screen is useless now, I can't connect to it with it not recognizing the cable. Android Auto doesn't work on Bluetooth.

Google is reportedly working on a fix for AA. Devices from multiple OEMs have been affected with issues in recent weeks.

There is no such thing as a cable "specifically for Android Auto." If you bought one because of that claim, I'm afraid you were sold a bill of goods.

Try removing your phone from the car's settings and reconnect it with a cable. If you're not sure how to do that, refer to the owner's manual, as it's different for each make of vehicle.

I already removed my phone and reconnected several times with different cables. I also reset the car system a few times as well.
And I would really appreciate not being called stupid!! "Sold a bill of goods" how incredibly low level !!

Mine will not stay connected, Bluetooth or USB cable.
It's worthless, it used to be flawless..

Your updates only move it in the wrong direction.

What if I already have Bluetooth in my truck?

Having Bluetooth does not necessarily mean that Android Auto will connect through it. My car has BT to connect the phone, but I still needed to use a usb connection to run AA - until I got the adapter, which I didn't even know existed until someone else on here mentioned it. Older vehicles had head units equipped with BT for hands free connectivity, but the AA connection required connection to the dedicated USB port.
