Work Profile Not Installing Correctly

I'm having trouble getting the Work Profile to install correctly so that I can have separate apps for personal and work. On my S23 Ultra, I had no issues installing the Work Profile.

On my S24 Ultra, the set up seems to crash in mid set up. I go to Accounts and try to add a new Google Account (work account). I type in my work's email address, after which I'm prompted to login to my work account using my user name and password. Instead of the OS proceeding to install all necessary apps and settings to create a Work Profile, the set up just abruptly ends and I'm back on my home screen. No error pops up at all, I'm just sent to the home screen.

When I check to see if the work profile installed, I can see it did not because the process normally includes installing Work Profile apps like Gmail, Drive, Calendar etc. If the Work Profile did install as normal, I should be able to go in the Settings, then Apps, to see all currently installed Work Profile related apps. In addition, all of the icons should have a small briefcase icon to indicate they are Work Profile apps. No such profile or apps exist.

It does not seem that anyone else has posted about this so I'm not sure what I can do.

I had issues as well. Then I downloaded "Android Device Policy" from the Playstore. Restarted the Intune process and it worked.

My IT dept says they don't use Intune so I'm still without a solution.

I have finally resolve the issue I was having!! After reading a few mentions of an app called Island, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot because nothing was working. Here's the link if you need to know:

This app triggers the installation of the Work Profile. It installs all things necessary to set it all up, it proceeded past the point where my S24 Ultra would just crash to the Home Screen. Instead of crashing, it continued installing and setting up my phone.

I logged into my work account, accepting the login with my work's two factor authentication app. I'm currently installing all of my work apps as I type this message. I couldn't be happier!! The Island app is currently in beta, if it ever comes out of beta, I plan on purchasing it just to give the dev support to resolving my issue.

I would like to thank @MobileMcPhoneface for at least trying to lend a hand. Your help made me not want to quit until I resolved my problem. Thank you.

So it begs the question, did Samsung remove the Work Profile? Is that why I couldn't get it to install like I did on my S23 Ultra? Don't know but it sure seems likely. Thank you

I was having the same issues - still am actually!  My flip 5 was perfect. Downloaded intune as supposed, got through all the work profile bits and was able to use the office wifi (BYOD) so I can use the phone in the office. Bought the Ultra 24 on launch and have not been able to use BYOD wifi in the office. I called IT and they deleted the multiple devices I had under the S24 as I had done it multiple times. Came into the office today and it still doesn't work. I can see emails, outlook calendar teams but the wifi bit (which worked automatically) doesn't . What makes it worse is that Three network doesn't work well in my office location so I have a large brick on my desk! Not happy with that. I will try the remedies suggested here and see if I can download the Island app on my brick phone in the office šŸ˜ž  

But glad to see that I'm not alone  and if more people report this then Samsung will have to do something.

Hi,

The work profile on my A03 isn't working. I have attempted all the instructions, my work and personal files and apps are different. Please help

Hi! I had the same problem, run through the IT admins, then through Samsung support, then through Google support, then through Play Google support. The whole problem is with the app- "device policy" that you cannot uninstall it even if it's not a system app. That is the app that wants a code and authorisation.
On my phone, I didn't have it and it ran fine. When you try to uninstall - it just freezes into loading to uninstall and spins and spins.

Create a secure folder and in it, you will be able to download via Google Play everything you need on your work profile. You will be able to transfer files through secure folders and regular ones and it will be like a phone within the phone - like Work profile is on Google, but way more customizable and cuter!
