Galaxy S25I have never, once, put on battery protection on any of my Samsung phones. I put my phone on the charger every night and it charges to 100%. There has been no detrimental effect on my battery. It has always been my understanding, that just like laptops, (or any other phone), when the device is charged to 100%, charging stops if the phone is not actively in use (hence, it says "fully charged", rather than "charging"). If that is, in fact, not true, it still has never negatively impacted my battery life or performance. It would be extremely negligent and dangerous to not have the power flow stop once the battery reaches 100%. I think they sell you false sense of security with this "battery protection" option. Note that they do not have a similar setting for watches.
