Please read all the way through to the end for the question. I know how to clear cache partition ans that is not the question I am asking.

So. I have a Sammy S25 plus phone and a 2024 GWU and a GW8C. I have gotten myself into the habit of wiping cache partion weekly on my devices.

I also have a Google Pixel Tablet and realized I've never cleared the cache partition since I've owned it (Jan 2025). I read online how to clear the cache partition but didn't see the option in the recovery menu. I searched a litle more and found out Pixel devices dont have the option any more because there isn't a need to wipe the cache partition. They've basically made it like Apple where it handles itself. This may be why I've had so few issues with the Pixel Tablet unlike my S25 plus phone.

Has anyone heard any rumors or know that Samsung is going the same route and making the One UI work like this? This way we don't have to clear cache partitions all the time to get the devices to work halfway decently?

Some OEMs that actually implement seamless updates with A/B partitions have removed the cache wipe option from recovery. That's how it is with OnePlus devices. I'm not surprised that Pixels are the same.

Samsung has barely started implementing seamless updates with a small number of its devices (thanks for finally catching up to 2016, Samsung). Until this becomes more widespread, expect to continue to manually wipe device cache.

Tbh, there is no real world difference in performance on system cache levels between branded Android builds and their related devices. All of them using Android are optimized to automatically clear out unneeded temp files etc. The difference between like Pixel and Oneplus devices is more likely due to them having less bloatware and services running, like having lighter skins, fewer OEM services, and tighter/better integration between the deviceโ€™s hardware, firmware etc within their own Android builds, rather than a fundamentally superior cache auto-wiping system that seems to make it funciton better. Samsung, I am guessing leaves that functionality to allow users a method of clearing out so much of what Samsung has on their devices. Probably so because as many services and and hardware functions there are, it is remedy for them to allow that function, than to have to address unwanted complaints about slowdowns etc.

In theory its like on a computer when you clear out files or restart where it refreshes the memory after restart on samsung phones its recommended to do after a update as with computer you get temp files in some updates
