I use to be able to add and remove my apps on edge panel edge app whenever i select gear now i get edge panel menu ever since 8.5 beta been this way since now i have official update still the same

I think that you are misremembering. You hit the pencil icon to add and remove apps to the Edge Panal in 8.0. I haven't received the 8.5 update yet. The gear icon has always acted the way that you state, since my first Samsung phone, the s8, that I can recall.
