After owning my 26U since release I finally found the culprit of my constant battery drain and heating. The issue is two fold after digging into a debug log for a few hours as the battery usage screen wasn't showing the issue.
1. Within the Samsung Members app, a service named com.samsung.android.voc which is used for diagnostics, error logs, etc was keeping my phone awake with constant wake locks. After uninstalling the app my battery life is extremely long. Kind of funny the diagnostic service of Samsung needed diagnosing but it was stopping deep sleep from working.
2. Samsung health, I am thinking something is stuck in a loop but there are times where the app will start a background process, excessively heats the phone then cools down. I uninstalled this one regretfully as I enjoy the app, but no more heating issues since removing.
Luckily I use Fitbit as well so I can live without the Health app but it is a shame there is poor quality control in the Samsung software.
Hopefully this helps anyone who might be having a similar issue, I have no battery problems on my Pixel or Nothing Phone 3, so Samsung specific software would explain the issue.
