Gallery problems

I have a Samsung S26 Ultra & have discovered yet another problem between Android & Apple IPhone. When I download a picture from my Google messages that was sent by an IPhone user, it goes into an ALBUM titled "Messages" instead of going right to Pictures. Can't transfer from this "messafes" album to pictures either. So causes me problems - for example - when I want family photos together it doesn't work when I have family members that some use Android & others have Iphones. I like to have that altogether in one spot. My Samsung S23 Ultra worked perfectly so I know it's a newer issue with this S26 Ultra. Please Samsung, fix this!!

As previously stated (multiple times), you cannot move pics into the Pictures category/tab because it is *not* an album. It's a collection of all the pictures stored on your phone, regardless of which album they're in. You can only move items between albums. You should already have an album called Pictures. If you don't, create one in My Files. You can then move whatever you want into that album.

You can move pictures between albums and create albums directly in Gallery. One can, but does not have to, go into "my files" to do this.  None of that, of course, changes the fact that all pictures, regardless of album, appear in the all pictures tab.

True. I just like maintaining my own folder structure.

And, when you create an album from within the gallery, it actually does create a new folder in the file manager - just as creating an album in the file manager creates it in the gallery.  Just saying, other options out there.

I'm aware. Doing it that way creates a new album under the DCIM parent folder. If that's not where I want it, I'll still have to move it.
