It is extremely frustrating that I have to go through multiple steps to start my exercise on my Samsung Galaxy Ultra watch. I can't tell you how many times I open the app, select my exercise and that forget to hit start! I like the old way much better. Select your exercise and it would start.

Galaxy Watch@Fsorgie Have you tried using the Fitness tile? Swipe left to the tile, click the exercise that you want and then click the start button.
OR, put a complication on your watch face that launches your chosen exercise. Then you just need to click the start button.

Galaxy WatchThe point, @LongHiker is that once we could start an exercise from the watch tile and there would be an immediate countdown and the tracking would start automatically. Now, you have to tap the exercise, then tap the start indicator and the tracking commences immediately. It's an extra tap, where there used to be only a single tap to start and the lack of those extra three seconds can skew the metrics for serious athletes. Not to mention that when you are used to tapping once for years and it suddenly changes, that's not a good thing, as it makes it very easy to forget to tap again to start.

Galaxy Watch@AAbbott It's a given that a lot of people hate change. The one change that I dislike is that when you end a workout, the stats screen just hangs out forever. You have to hit the back button. Samsung confirmed that they made that change because of user complaints. I'm sure they did the same on the starting of the exercise. Personally, I'm fine with it because I want the GPS to lock before the exercise is started. But not happy how long that lock takes.

Galaxy WatchFor me, I swim in bright sunlight. I have memorized the position of the swimming app on my watch ( I can't see it in the sun with my goggles on), so having to find the start button after I already opened the exercise is frustrating. I never had an issue ending a workout - just swiped right on the lower edge of the watch screen and hit the big red circle.
