Hi there!
This past week Samsung replaced the sleep cycles in the health app with sleep latency. I wish they would have kept it the old way, and added sleep latency as a feature. However, since the change my deep sleep also changed, well, at least that's what the app is telling me. I suddenly only get exactly 20 minutes, for four nights in a row now. That can't be right.
Any suggestions / insights on that? It almost appears it doesn't measure properly.

Thanks!

Yeah, maybe it's a theme. It took me over 15 hours last night. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Has anyone else experienced their galaxy watch ultra and ring not detecting sleep since the One UI 8 update? Mine is missing part of my sleep and not detecting naps. Smh

Yes. My ring doesn't work with the application automatically any more. I have to sync it. And it still doesn't give me a detailed read on my sleep habits.

I am having a different problem I have a watch 7 and and s25.. Some nights it records the sleep pattern ver the phone y well and breaks it down into deep light etc but other times I just get a solid blue line with no breakdown. I have read about similar issues on Samsung members but I can't seem to see anyone who's resolved this problem someone said you have the phone the phone data because the phone might also be recording it at the same time as the watch?  Can anybody help me is there anybody from Samsung on these messages?  Many thanks

See image below ... in early June 2025, no health nor lifestyle changes, sleep score dropped dramatically because watch no longer picks up Deep and REM sleep. It appears I'm not alone in this, lots of suggestions about power settings, reboots, etc. - and all tried, no luck. Putting this out there for any wise comment! (but not wiseguy comment! ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Which watch do you have?  I have heard of some people having this problem after the recent health app updates, but that does not seem to have affected my watch or sleep stats.  Is it possible that your watch is not snug enough?  Your respiration and pulse do not actually go low enough to be detected as deep sleep? You are not actually sleeping as well as you believe you are?  I know that I have not been registering as much deep sleep as I have in the recent past, but still within the range it has always been.  I also know that I have not been sleeping as well lately, so I'm actually surprised that it's registering any deep sleep at all.

Thanks for your reply! In response to your specific comments:

  • It is a Galaxy Watch 6
  • On my left wrist, one hole away from all in (I have the wrists of a ten-year old boy, apparently) (which I am not) That noted, I will go all in re: snugness tonight, and see what happens.
  • Mean respiratory rate = 13.4, mean pulse =68 (both last night)
  • And yes, maybe I changed and not the app!

My watch 6 no longer records sleep accurately after the last spital update. AI says Samsung is aware and working on a software update via Samsung Health. Samsung support will not admit they have an issue. Really frustrating. Use to get sleep scores in 80's and 90's, starting the day after the update, teens thru 30's. 1753909428464.jpg1753909428488.jpg

Thanks for this note, sincerely. I am glad to see that I am not the only one. I'm wondering what to do now.  Get the Galaxy 8 and hope for the best? Go to an Oura ring? (NYT best pick, but $349) Live without the info? The "energy score" stuff remains the same, no effects there that I could tell.

For me it is only the sleep that got messed up. It just boggles my mind that the world knows about this, but Samsung support will not acknowledge it. I have Samsung watches, S25 phones, and 3 Samsung TVs, but there customer support leaves a lot to be desired. I would be happy if someone at Samsung would just say "... we are aware of the issue, and we are working on. A fix." Nk one will even say that.
