Galaxy WatchI use the Samsung Timer feature constantly on my Galaxy 8 and love it (ex Apple watch user). However, when a timer expires I hear the notification and see dismiss/restart icons on the watch face but then I hear a DING and a Timer App notification shows from the top of the watch face. When I dismiss the timer (rotate crown clockwise, BTW greatest feature) and go back to home screen, there is a red dot at 9 o'clock (signaling a NEW notification). When I swipe right, there's a generic notification for the Timer app that I have to dismiss. If I use the Timer app again, same behavior. I rebooted the watch and no difference. This was not the normal behavior prior. Any ideas?

Galaxy WatchHi @Tbone thanks for reaching out to the Samsung Community. I would find that annoying to have to keep dismissing the notification for the timer app especially if that wasn't happening previously. I'd be more than happy to try and help you resolve this.
First, I would navigate to settings>Apps>App list> find the Timer app> Force stop and Clear Cache and Data.
If there is an error goin on with the app that should fix it. But if that didn't work you may want to try and wipe the cache partition of the watch.
Follow the steps list here for wiping the cache partition:
Please let me know if any of these steps help you out! If not there may be something else we can try!

Galaxy WatchThanks for the troubleshooting steps. I learned a lot there; however, still same behavior and to summarize: "A redundant Timer app notification pop-up occurs from the top of the screen upon timer expiring. This redundant notification can only be cleared by go into notification screen".

Galaxy WatchSince that didn't work have you tried to turn off that apps notification specifically? On the watch go into Settings>Notifications>App Notifications and you should be able to turn off notifications for the timer app specifically. Also check and make sure the watch is fully updated to the latest software if not you will want to make sure its updated.
Try that and see if that works and if not you can always do a reset of the entire watch since this started happening previously.
This will walk you through the steps for a reset and it will also help you back up the watch beforehand so you don't lose any information. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003368/

Galaxy WatchYou cannot see Timer app notification settings from the watch interface, so I had to use my phone to set Clock (which includes Timer) notifications OFF. Timer app on the phone works fine, no redundant notification, but I changed the setting anyway. However, this also made no difference. ๐

Galaxy WatchWell, maybe it took a bit for the phone setting to apply to the watch, but it STOPPED the redundant notification!
