I knew we were in trouble when they started allowing calculators in the classroom.  Students started learning how to use a calculator, not how to do the actual math involved.  With this new development, they have even less incentive to learn complex math.  I say this as a mathematically challenged person.  If I had been able to use a calculator to solve things, I never would have even learned the math I *do* know.  I can't even tell you the sense of accomplishment I feel when I do manage to solve a complex equation (sans calculator).

Yes  Galaxy AI can do that. Take or open a clear photo of the problem, press & hold the Home button or gesture handle, draw a circle around the equation, and a pop-up will show the answer with step by step working. Tip use good lighting and crop so only the problem is visible; neater handwriting yields better results.

What a shame! This contributes to why the younger generations don't have a chance if they choose to use this. Parents & teachers should do their best to try & eliminate kids having access to devices during school & homework time. I know it's not a fulproof way to make sure our kids learn, but it's a start.

Yes, it solves the problem but it also shows HOW it did it, so this could help a kid learn how to solve the equation. I doubt students can sit there taking a test with their phones out! Unless the teacher is an **bleep** and doesn't pay attention.

Thank you for this! My husband and I are the grandparents of 10 and 11 yr old boys. Lots of time when we are working on math, I can get to the answer however working the problem out the way they are teaching them now be somewhat difficult and this certainly is helpful!!

Thats why these younger kids do not know how to balance a checkbook. Some can't even do simple algebra and have zero math skills. cause they have NOT been taught or shown the fundamentals and made to learn. Being mathematically illiterate is NOT the answer and giving them access to AI, only exacerbates it. 🤔

Some children have learning disabilities. This will speed up learning because you can see how it's done. This is a fantastic tool to use for everyone. Think about what in saying. I didn't have a tool to help me see how a problem is solved. After seeing it solved a few times you will begin to understand it. This is a private tutor. Technology is are friend if you can learn from it. 🔥
