LED and OLED TVsMy TV model (UN55DU7200DXZA) came with a remote which functioned just fine until today. Today, when I pushed the RETURN button to return to the previous channel, it returned me to the home screen instead! When I contacted customer service and spoke with a representative, she told me that the functions of the remote can (and will) be changed during updates to the software and that there was nothing that she could do to restore this capacity because the "remote was functioning properly." I was wondering if I could do a factory reset to restore this basic function to my remote. I mean, really, this is a BASIC function of any remote that I have ever owned.

LED and OLED TVsAnd this from the Samsung rep: "If none of the steps [that you have tried] worked, this might be due to the recent update, and we are unable to change it (my emphasis). We encourage you to share your feedback in our community at https://smsng.us/3HbhSGS ..."
The other advice from Samsung that I have received during my interaction with them: Visit the Samsung website and purchase a new remote from us for about $60. (I am going to pass on this self-serving solution.)

LED and OLED TVsExactly the same issue for me. I'm in Brazil. Worked fine yesterday, now it shows some ridiculous advert. Wonderful when "updates" make things worse. Ask for help and you get stupid responses as if its YOUR fault. "Your remote is working as designed." No it bloodywell isn't!

LED and OLED TVsI have a QLED TV model QN55Q8DTAFXZA. My TV got the same update. Now my BACK button on my Smart Remote will jump to the home page of the Smart TV menu. The online e-manual describes the BACK button's function as:
Press to return to the previous menu. When pressed for 1 sec or more, the running function is terminated. When pressed while you are watching a program, the previous channel appears.*
If you are navigating a menu option it should back you out of the menu structure. That works. Pressing longer for 1 sec. Not sure what it did for me but nothing noted. Pressed while watching a program.... Two different options happened. If I am watching 2 channels, both from AIR source, it seems to work properly. If one channel or both channels you are viewing are a Samsung TV plus channel it will act similar to the LEFT button press from the round ring. It is broken and is a bug. It does not follow the manual's description and it needs to be reported as a bug to the developers. Don't let any Samsung rep tell you it is working properly. Coding errors happen. They can be fixed. Please fix this annoyance for your customers. I am one of them and I am begging you to fix this.
Update: The next day I tried to see if there was any way this behavior could be resolved thru some settings buried deep somewhere. No dice. But... I did discover that the BACK button behaved normally immediately when the TV was powered up but only for a few seconds. I was able to jump BACK and forth between two Samsung TV plus channels as well as between an Off Air antenna channel BUT it "broke" again when I saw the Samsung TV Plus symbol in the upper right corner appear then disappear. Seems this "app" loads at startup in the background when powered on and as soon as it is fully loaded it hijacks the BACK button function. Once that app is loaded the button opens the "home" page of Samsungs TV plus app only when you are viewing the TV plus channels. It behaves broken just as I described in my original post. It appears to me the update directly relates to Samsung TV plus and I call it as I see it..."it's a bug." Time to submit a bug report to the programmers. Please fix it. TY

LED and OLED TVsSamsung suggested I visit their site and purchase a new remote with a dedicated LAST CHANNEL button - around $35. I bought the above from eBay for less than $15. Works perfect on my model (UN55DU7200DXZA). I think Samsung should fix the problem they created but, from their responses to me, it seemed that it was not a priority.

I have exactly one of these for my rarely used 15 year old Samsung. Will try it.
