Washer WF42H5200AW

When I reinsert the washing machine filter it rotates, and doesn’t stop.  It just starts clicking.  Is this normal?  When do I stop turning?  At the first clicking sound?

@briercreek According to the owner's manual, you turn it only until the indicator is straight up.

I *really* appreciate you replying to me.  But, the manual is NOT helping me.  What indicator is the manual talking about?  I have googled this, and watched many YouTube videos.  I do not know what they are talking about.  My filter just seems to screw in, then starts clicking as I said.

The "indicator" appears to be the vertical piece shown in the picture. I would guess that you insert the piece with those horizontal and then rotate it 90 degrees so they are pointing up/down and you are good.

I would guess it requires turning it only a quarter turn (90 degrees).

Can someone tell me if I did this correctly?  I think figured it out but the manual was NOT helpful.

The image in the manual does not clearly show the indicators.  And it shows the HANDLE pointing at 12 o’clock.  My handle is not at 12 o’clock but the indicator now is.

I now have the indicator pointing correctly, I think.  The indicator on the washing machine is very hard to see, even with a flashlight.

I appreciate the replies.  This has been a little hard to figure out.

I am getting a 5E code after reinserting the filter.  Did I reinstall the filter incorrectly, or damage it somehow?  I am trying to clear the code by powering off the washer for 15 minutes.

@briercreek Have you tried repositioning the filter so that it looks like the picture in the manual?

Edit:

I think I'm OK.  We were able to clear the 5E error by unplugging the washer for 15 minutes.  I watched my spouse reinsert the filter, but I don't think he did anything different than what I did.  We were able to run a simple rinse+spin cycle without any water leaks.  The noise does sound odd, but I'll see if I notice it during the next wash cycle.

The whirring noise I'm hearing maybe is a normal sound after draining the water.  I'll reach out to Samsung support for any other questions.  I find the pictures in the manual not very helpful.  I was concerned about doing this right to avoid a water leak.

@briercreek It think it may be time to reach out to Samsung support.

For immediate assistance, one option is to use the Samsung Members app -> Support -> Send text. This will open up live troubleshooting.

Another option is to contact Samsung support via https://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact/
