Monitors and MemoryHello Team Samsung and dear Samsung Users,
I've been facing a weird issue. I'm using Samsung Galaxy M33 5G device and a Samsung EVO Plus microSD Card (512GB). The camera app was getting unresponsive/freezing quite a few times. I ignored.
Recently, it was my kid's graduation day and I clicked some pics and captured couple of videos.
I came home and was exploring the Gallery app. BTW, I usually move the pics and videos captured by camera to a specific album corresponding to that occasion or event. So, now most of the icons of photo thumbnails started appearing as blank and were giving error "unsupported file type" while opening the images.
I quit the Gallery app and reopened it but now most of other previous photos icons or thumbnails started appearing to be blank.
I restarted the device thinking it would resolve the behaviour but then all the content of Camera or DCIM folder just vanished automatically.
I contacted the Samsung tech support team but as usual... Efforts went in vain.
The first level advisors gave a number and told that they are the SD card experts. I found that it was a toll free number for the B2B team. The advisors there gave an email address and told that these kind of queries are handled only on email.
The email team responds pretty fast which is amazing. I shared all the details as per instructions and they shared an address, presumably an authorised service center.
I went there and they simply told that they will replace the micro SD card while I had clearly mentioned my main underlying concern to all the advisors at each contact. No one understood.
Finally they told that the data cannot be recovered because of security and privacy of customer data. (Absurd right?!)
Now I want to know why this happened and how to retrieve the photos and videos back. I'm sure Samsung WILL have a tool or method to restore deleted data from sd cards.
I losing hopes to receive any favourable support from Samsung tech support team.
I may get a standard response for this post asking me to contact a toll free number. That's it and that's all.
PS: All other content from the micro SD card is intact and usable. Only the data captured from the camera app has disappeared.
Can anyone help me? I'm sure there are many tech experts among the global users.

Monitors and MemoryThanks bud! I appreciate your response @LongHiker but does it even matter ?
The question is for all users across the globe including the US.
Let other expert users respond if they know the resolution and the cause.
Have a good day bud!

Monitors and Memory@userrodLdJEstK Since the M55 and it's software are not available in the US, the users here won't know about any odd or unexpected behaviour related to that device or that regional software.
And you would be contacting a completely different Samsung support team than the US users.

Monitors and Memory@LongHiker you make complete sense. I'm definitely aware of it. I was just expecting some information or help by other users if anyone faced similar behaviour, I mean irrespective of the model. And mine, I believe I mentioned it as M33 which, yes of course, is a specific model for the South East Asia. And I've posted in the local community as well.
Thanks again! āŗļø
