As soon as i receive a call in my note 8 i just hear the ringtone but the screen of the phone stay tottally black till i unlock the phone and then it shows the incoming call. any idea?
Hmm. Did you have any apps installed at all on the phone from the Google Play store? I know some also already come pre-installed on some models like Facebook and Amazon apps.
I want to test your phone with only the Samsung stock applications running. Are you familiar with Safe Mode? If so, please test your phone's call capability in the mode to see if the screen will show the call when locked then. If you're not familiar with Safe Mode on the Galaxy Note 8, here are instructions on how to get into that mode:
Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power key past the model name screen.
When "SAMSUNG" appears on the screen, release the Power key.
Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
Before continuing, please note that when you exit Safe Mode, some of your customization options (Wallpapers, Themes, Etc.) may be reset to default.

Same here. I too, am having an issue. Started after last update, and factory reset did not fix it. Still not receiving a notification when receiving incoming call.
