I'd like to propose an enhancement to the integration between Samsung Notes and the Gemini AI application, specifically when Gemini is accessed via the dual-pane interface.
Currently, users can already summon the Gemini app in dual-pane mode with the dedicated AI keyboard button. However, I find current screen capture methods to be tedious and time consuming when taking notes without using the keyboard. The current workflow involves using either smart select or cropping a screenshot which take you out of the Samsung Notes app entirely.
To enhance workflow, the addition of a UI button within Samsung Notes that facilitates this quick capture and perhaps even paste/submission to Gemini to the dual-pane Gemini application.
Proposed Functionality:
Upon activation, this new UI button would enable users to:
Rectangular Lasso Capture: Quickly select and capture a specific rectangular portion of the screen within a notebook in Samsung Notes.
Automatic Submission/Pasting: Automatically open the Gemini app in dual-pane mode and paste the captured image. Ideally, this would paste it into the Gemini input field, ready for user interaction.
Given the existing strong partnership between Google and Samsung in advancing AI capabilities on smartphones and tablets, I think a more streamlined method for submitting visual content from Samsung Notes to the Gemini app would be a convenient feature for end-users and align with the spirit of this collaboration.
Least case scenario I would like this to just copy the selection to clipboard.
