I appreciate the convenience and efficiency that Quick Share provides for seamless file sharing.
However, I have observed a potential security vulnerability in the temporary link-sharing method.
Unlike the direct sharing method, where recipients must be nearby and connected via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, temporary link sharing lacks restrictions on who can send files.
This opens the possibility for scammers to exploit the feature by sending unsolicited or harmful files to Samsung users simply by saving our phone numbers in their contacts.
To mitigate this risk, I propose the introduction of a filtering mechanism for Quick Share links. This could include the same filter system that direct Quick Share has: none, contacts only, and everyone. Also, an optional setting that allows users to block unknown senders.
Implementing such a safeguard would significantly enhance the security of Samsung users and prevent potential misuse of the feature.
