My Samsung  galaxy tab a 10.1 is bricked on download mode with an error has occurred while updating the device software use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software i tried with an error

I know it states if the phone is freezing, but this should also work for your tab. Please read the link in its entirety to reap the full benefit of the troubleshooting. If this does not help I recommend letting a service technician have a look.
