Goodnotes redemption

Hello all, I just bought a galaxy S9fe+ and was looking forward to using GoodNotes premium with the one year free promised by Samsung but it didn't automatically update when I downloaded the app and created an account.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Is there a fix?
