Internal storage and application backup

I've noticed that the only ways to back up my apps or data is via the Samsung cloud, Samsung switch or Google. 

Why can't I simply back that data and apps to and SD card? 

I am just as capable to protect my data as they are? 

Or can someone suggest a 3rd party application that can allow me to backup my files to and SD card? 

Would you believe a found a Huwei app, but after install it mysteriously disappeared. 

I am thinking I might have to reset the device because illegal remote access.

My S8U allows backup to usb storage.

I'm not sure what model of tablet you have, but I have the option of backing up my data to sd card on my Tab S7FE.

Thanks for following up, but I was hoping to use another method as switch requires certain access that may exposse the content of my files. I saw something about this when I tried to used it and then I searched for an alternative. Hence the question. For me its really the apps and the configs, I don't want to start over. I saw à few apps in the store so I suppose I will be testing. Thanks,

What I posted is just using the built-in backup to a USB SD card or thumb drive.
