Samsung One UI 8 now requires me to connect to external monitor to use classic Dex. what is this Samsung. I got the Tab s8 because I can run classic Dex directly on the tablet. Now it feels like my tablet is missing a lot of features that I was using before. Google version of desktop mode is garbage. I already regretting that I updated to One UI 8. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back classic Dex mode support without connecting to external monitor. I love my tablet. Until then I'll be waiting. Whoever was working on One UI 8 design made a huge mistake. I might have to go back to Apple iPad for my next purchase. I'm really disappointed. I know I'm not the only one feel this way.
Im on the same page as is nearly the entire subreddit for Dex. We payed so much for an expensive 2 in 1 tablet device that had the option for a PC UI built in. They are removing functionality after the sale of the product.
If you ask me, they removed this feature through software updates because they have this new trifold phone that was just announced to be released soon and they said that Dex will be available on it out of the box with standalone usability. CALL TECH SUPPORT and complain about this feature being removed so Samsung will bring it back

Was excited when I saw the numbers for the Dimensity 9400+ on my Samsung S11 but this little keyboard slim and removal of Dex has made me decide to work toward trading this in for a OnePlus Pad 3, they come with the magnetic keyboards and do a buyback, unfortunately S11's arent listed in their buyback.
Hi everyone! I've talked to tech support multiple times and even wrote a letter to their president to return the old version of Dex. They told me that if there will be more requests to their tech support to return Dex, they will do it. Please go to Samsung official website and contact tech support!
I am feeling very disappointed with my recent experience. I purchased the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra specifically for its 14.6" display to use DeX (Desktop mode) as a standalone workstation for my work and studies.
I do not use an external monitor; I rely entirely on the tablet's own screen for this setup. However, it feels like the functionality has changed or is no longer working as intended. This was a significant investment of around $800, and right now, the device isn't meeting the primary need I bought it for.
I have already reached out through official channels regarding this. If there isn't a way to restore the standalone DeX experience, Iโm concerned I won't be able to keep using the Galaxy ecosystem for my productivity needs, including my phone also.
Yeah. I mean it's kinda cool I can just connect to any Bluetooth TV and have a second monitor, being able to have 2 separate screens. Problem, the Bluetooth screen and mouse are barely usable it's so glitches. Fix this mode but also bring back original I used it all the time, this is so annoying.
