Smart lock issues

Smart lock drives me crazy ...why must it shutdown so fast. there is no way to change the times before it locks. I am disabled and don't really need it to come up every 3 minutes. what can i do?

Go to settings...lock screen...smart lock and set it up for on body detection or trusted places....your screen will not lock
