Is there any way to tell Android that .CR3 files are image files so they will appear in the Gallery app? Thanks.

Bill

It depends on how you define "don't support". If I use My Files to select a .CR3 file and open with Gallery the Gallery opens the file and shows the image. The problem is that when Gallery scans the files on the tablet it does not identify .CR3 files as image files and, therefore, does not display them. Somewhere, Android or Gallery maintains a list of which file extensions are image files and I need to find a way to add .CR3 to that list.

Try opening it with photos or gallery app and set it to always.

Great idea but it did not work. When I open Gallery I still do not see the .CR3 files.

It looks like gallery apps don't support .cr3 files, but you can still view it as an image if you pull it up via the my files app
