Might I suggest you upgrade to a Tab S10 series, you will be good for another 5 years of updates. It will take you to Oct 2031.

The final update for your tablet was Android 10 (One UI 2.1). It's as current as it's going to get.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, released in 2018, did not receive an official upgrade to Android 14 (One UI 6), with its support ending at Android 10 (One UI 2.1). No major updates beyond Android 10 were provided by Samsung, and security updates have also ceased, leaving the device vulnerable.

For advanced users, custom ROMs such as Android 14 via GSI can be installed, but this comes with risks including instability, potential hardware issues, and the possibility of bricking the device. Installing such ROMs requires unlocking the bootloader, rooting, and using TWRP recovery. Official support for newer versions by LineageOS is not available for the Tab S4.

The recommendation for users content with their device is to stick with Android 10, as many apps still support it, though compatibility with newer software may diminish over time. For those wanting Android 14 or newer, proceed only if comfortable with advanced modifications and consider testing on a backup first.

The best long-term option is to upgrade to a newer model, such as the Tab S9/S10 series or Tab A9+, which receive several years of updates. Users can seek personalized advice by sharing their specific model and primary usage in the settings menu.
