It says online the oneui 8 update should have rolled out to version and yet it says up to date. This is why I hate android the updates are at the will of the carriers. It should be Samsung directly sending update not sending them to carriers then to the devices

Your beef is with Samsung for setting up this ridiculous decentralized update system. They've allowed carriers to add their own bloatware to carrier models of Samsung devices, so they get to have final say on when updates are pushed. This affects any Samsung device capable of using mobile data, whether carrier-locked or factory unlocked. It's unbelievably inefficient and customer unfriendly.

It's across the board unless you have a pixel. It's always the manufacturer sends the updates to the carrier and the carrier choose if and when they go out. It shouldn't be like that. Pixel I think sends them directly to devices and apple sends them directly to devices no middle man, no carrier saying when

OnePlus updates also come directly from the OEM. The same is true for any OEM that doesn't have these deals with carriers for selling their devices. This is the system we're stuck with in the US unless some radical changes are made. I don't see that happening because money drives everything.
