Washers and Dryers

Hello,

I have been trying to debug an issue with my washing machine. The other day the washer stopped finishing a regular wash cycle. The cycle would run for 10-15 minutes and then at some point the timer won’t decrease nor will the washer do anything - it will just sit there. You just hit the pause button then play button, but nothing will happen.

I tried unplugging the washer for 10 minutes. Then tried running a self clean cycle - same result, it’ll run for about 10-15 minutes then sit there and do nothing without timer decreasing. I ran a calibration which supposedly should take 1-3 minutes, but it took closer to 20 minutes to complete. Then I ran the self clean cycle again…finally it completed the cycle! Excited, I then put my clothes in to run a regular cycle and now the washer won’t even attempt to do the cycle. It locks the door and makes some familiar noises and the clock then has the numbers running in a circle like it is thinking and then makes another familiar noise and unlocks the door like it’s waiting for me to choose a wash option. 3-4 iterations of this, I finally get a 3C error code.

Washers and Dryers

I had this issue once with a washer - even went out and bought a new washer, only to find the same issue.  Turned out it was the outlet it was plugged into.  It was able to supply just enough power for part of a wash cycle, but would quit when any real power was necessary, like the start of agitation.  Interestingly enough, it did not trip the breaker, just stopped.    I would never have suspected the outlet, as anything plugged into it worked.  So, my suggestion is check the outlet or plug the washer into another outlet to see if it completes a wash cycle.  It it turns out not to be the outlet, then put in a service request, there may be an internal misfiring.

Washers and Dryers
@TylerLamb A few weeks ago, I encountered a similar issue that necessitated a technician's visit to replace the component connecting the water lines to the tank. The problem stemmed from a partial blockage that was restricting the water supply.

Could be a few things. Make sure washer is leveled. Check your cold water hose to make sure its not kinked. Blockages will create similar issues such as yours. Also inspect the inlet filter located at the bottom of your washer for any build up or blockage there. Something is preventing your washer from filling properly, so it won't complete the wash cycle.
