I think it is becoming "Google Messages".

Previously when I would open a group text message there was a menu option to change notification sound. It is no longer there (it still exists in the menu for individual text messages). I can no longer figure out how to change the notification sound for a group message.

I can't find it in the Galaxy store or play store to re download it, using Google Messages

They're phasing it out. Google Messages will become the default message app for Android going forward.

I agree! Google has done an excellent job updating it with new features. IMO it's on the same level as iMessage.

They actually started phasing it out from s22 series.

I hope not. I use it instead of Google Messages. I like it better, has more customization, at least for me
