A Series & Other MobileOpen the my files app. Navigate to the folder you want to sort. Tap the item highlighted in my screen shot an select your sort order. Then tap the arrow to the right of that menu and select whether you want it in most recent first or last.

A Series & Other MobileOh, I just noticed, while trying to figure out how your downloads were being sorted by this week, etc., that you were referring to the quick access folder on the categories row, not the actual download folder. There is no actual way to sort that folder, it sorts by most recent first by default. It's the only folder in categories that you cannot select the sort. So your most recent files for this week would show first, sorted by the last one downloaded by time stamp. The files that are shown in the "earlier" section are, likewise sorted in most recent first by time stamp. Folders will be placed before files. If you change the sort order of the download folder as shown in the above post, the sort order will change to the current sort order of the folder. For instance, I have my download folder sorted in alphabetical order. This changed the order of the quick access folder to the same order. It now sorts alphabetically, within the format of that folder. So, "this week" would show all my files downloaded this week, sorted by folder first, then the alphabetical list of files. If my sort order was by date, it would show as most recent first by time stamp.

The folders are placed fefore files in other places like Internal Storage>Downloads. Is there any way to stop that.

A Series & Other MobileIt was always like that. It's basic file manager behavior. Folders always come before files.

A Series & Other MobileYou can download a different file manager (you are not required to use "my files"). I have downloaded and sometimes use the Asus file manager (available in the Play store). In this file manager, while the folders will still show first, you can sort that quick folder by whichever sort order you want, because it's basically a shortcut to the actual download folder, not a separate space.
