I have two issues with my Samsung Galaxy a15 contact list; first of all on the list, to the right it would show me letters like a, b, and see so I could pick the contact I wanted to see. That's no longer there. Also on the individual contacts it doesn't give me the option of changing changing the ringtone. That piece just doesn't show on any of the contacts. What can I do to correct these?

The alphabet strip is there, it's just very light and does not appear until you start to scroll on the right side of the screen.  In order to change the ringtone of a contact, you have to open the contact in the contacts app.  On the bottom right of the contacts screen is the dot menu that says "more".  Tap "more" and then select change ringtone/vibration and then select your ringtone for that contact.  Repeat as necessary for each contact.

My 'more' doesn't include the option 'change ringtone/vibration. I don't know why or how to add it. ????

What's your version of the contacts app? This is the current version. If you don't have the setting, clear the app data. This will reset the app and all your settings for it, but not harm your contacts. You will have to reconfigure any settings. 1751768279760.jpg

This setting was included in earlier versions of the app as well.  My older phone has version 14.7.13, and the setting is there. Clear the app data.

So I delete the contacts app. How do I add the 14.7.13 version? I'm somewhat knowledgeable on this Stuff but. You're way ahead of me and I really appreciate it..

You did/do not have to delete the contacts app itself, you only need to delete the data, which resets the app.  The app cannot be deleted.  To delete the data (and cache, for good measure), go to the app settings, scroll down to "storage", tap on that, and then select delete data.  As I said, it will not delete your contacts, but it will delete all settings, such as favorites designations, possibly groups and any id pictures for contacts, which you will have to set up again.  My point in illustrating that my older version had this setting, was that the setting should be in all versions from at least that point forward, regardless if your app is up to date or not.  The version you have is newer than 14.7.13.  I do not know why yours is not the same version I currently have, unless it's the version for the A15.  Regardless, that setting is in all newer versions.  They would not give it to everyone else *except* A15 users.

Why doesn't my Samsung Galaxy a15 have the option of changing ringtones on the contact settings?
