I have an A156U and I think my phone didn't completely install the new updates completely so I read that we could use the "update assistant" with a pc to install updates.
My question is, can I use my linux mint system to perform this action? And if so, how exactly do I accomplish this?
I have an hp that has the linux mint system so I'm really curious if this can be done. I really want my phone to run correctly. It's getting frustrating the way it is now.
Thank you

Hello pcarpenter0318, I understand your concerns with your device not completing the software update and wanting to complete the updating using your PC. If the update fails to install, in most cases the device will recover from the error, and try again, though some additional action may be required:

If there is an error concerning insufficient storage, you will need to free up storage space. The device will display the amount of space needed. If the update fails to completely download, you will be able to resume the download from the notification. If the update continuously fails to download, you may be able to update the device with Smart Switch. If the device fails to boot normally after an update fails, service will be required to reflash the device.

Verify that your PC is up to date

Download the Smart Switch app to your PC

Connect your device to your PC using a USB cord

When your device is connected to your PC, a pop-up will appear, prompting you to choose how you’d like to transfer data. Make sure Transferring files / Android Auto is selected

If a software update is available, Smart Switch will automatically prompt you to update the software or will display an option to update
