Hi,

I installed Google Phone app as default application for calls as I wanted their option for call recording.

However it didn't work and they told me to address here.

Long story short I had Xiaomi previously and was very happy with this feature. I don't mind if caller is informed upfront that the call will be recorded.

How can I do call recording on Samsung phone?

Yes, I can record phone calls on my phone. There is a call record button on the dialer app. It has to be running Android 15. When you press the button it will inform the party that you are recording them.

If you live in any of these states this feature is not available on your dialer California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington. These states are 2 party consent states.

My understanding is it is not supposed to be available in 2 party states.

I believe that's why the warning is announced when you hit the button so others know and can say no. In one party states you don't need to inform of the recording.

It is available. If it was not, there would be no recorder on my phone and no need for the warning voice that seems to bother people more than the recording feature itself. I can, and do, record customer service calls.

The call recording icon does not appear until the call connects. Assuming, of course, that your phone is running OneUI7.

If you are using an S10 with Android 12, call record is not available. It became available in OneUI7.0 in Samsung's dialer.
