Using call recording feature with Google phone app

Hi,

I installed Google Phone app as default application for calls as I wanted their option for call recording.

However it didn't work and they told me to address here.

Long story short I had Xiaomi previously and was very happy with this feature. I don't mind if caller is informed upfront that the call will be recorded.

How can I do call recording on Samsung phone?

You would need to go to Community Board that best serves your region.

@Robin631k I believe you are not correct about that. That is the reason, as @GaryB82 stated, that the announcement is made. In two party consent states, you must make other parties aware of the recording and if they stay on the line, it's considered consent. The reason for the announcement in one party states is in case one is speaking to someone in a 2 party state. Technically, it's not a criminal offense by itself, but secret recordings in those states cannot be used as evidence (officialy) and the recorded party can sue your pants off.

Someone who lives in a 2 party state said it isn't on his phone because it is not allowed in his state.

I'm in FL and it's on mine, and my sister's (same phone). Is it possible your friend isn't running the latest UI or just hasn't noticed the icon?

Sorry to being hard guys there is indeed tape recording button in Samsung's own dialer and it works as expected:

I have the recorder on my A54. It is only available in OneUI7 and above. Since the OP says they are using an S10 with Android 12, it would not be available to them.
