Hello,

I keep getting a notification about Samsung Continuity Service to "Allow Samsung Continuity Service to run in the background" and go to settings to change it. However, whenever I go, there is no option to run in the background and I can't get this notification to stop. Has anyone dealt with something like this?Screenshot 2025-09-17 080413.png

Have you tried what @realaud suggested with the battery? That could be the issue.

I had to do some research on this. Hereโ€™s what I found:

Fixing the Notification

1. Check Battery Optimization directly

Go to Settings โ†’ Apps.

Tap the โ˜ฐ (menu) โ†’ Special access โ†’ Optimize battery usage.

Switch the dropdown to All apps.

Find Samsung Continuity Service.

Toggle it off (so itโ€™s not optimized).

This usually stops the nagging notification.

---

2. Check Sleeping/Deep Sleeping Apps

Go to Settings โ†’ Battery โ†’ Background usage limits.

Look under Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps.

If Samsung Continuity Service is listed, remove it.

---

3. Force Stop & Restart

In Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Samsung Continuity Service, tap Force stop.

Restart the phone.
Sometimes the notification clears once the service reloads properly.

---

4. Hide the Notification (workaround)
If it still wonโ€™t stop:

Go to Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ App notifications.

Find Samsung Continuity Service.

Turn off its notifications.

Downside: you wonโ€™t see alerts from this service, but itโ€™s usually safe since itโ€™s just background reminders.

---

Why this happens:
Itโ€™s often a bug in newer One UI versions where the Continuity Service insists it needs background permission, even though the toggle is missing or already allowed. Samsung sometimes patches this in software updates.

Turning continuity service optimization off will stop the nagging, but may have unintended consequences when trying to utilize connected devices.  The continuity services are necessary to run unrestricted in the background, not be put to sleep.  If, of course, if one does not use any connected devices, and does not care whether their music continues in the same place from device to device, or don't care if the note they are working on on their phone opens to the same spot on their tablet, they they can by all means turn off continuity services, but if it's on, it needs to be unrestricted (not optimized).

True, it just runs in the background to support features. Removing or disabling it could break things like calls on a tablet or syncing tasks between your phone and PC

Yeah and that's why I am having issues as there is no option that I have been able to find to allow it to run so that I can utilize this feature to the fullest

Question, are you trying or have linked your phone with your laptop and if so are you using Link to Windows or Samsung Flow?
