I often work with very large CSV files on my Samsung Windows laptop, and Excel keeps freezing or crashing whenever I try to open or edit them. Iโ€™ve already tried increasing memory limits and disabling add-ins, but the issue still happens with heavy datasets. Whatโ€™s the most reliable way to handle or process large CSV files on a Samsung PC without running into performance problems or crashes? Looking for practical tools or workflows that actually work.

If you're comfortable learning terminal (it's not crazy difficult) you could easily navigate large csv files, check out csvkit

Ghostty may be a good terminal to check out since it's GPU acceleration may help too

Editing large CSV files often requires specialized tools beyond traditional spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, which have row limits. Several options exist depending on the size of the file and the user's technical proficiency.
Dedicated Large CSV Editors:
Gigasheet: A cloud-based spreadsheet designed to handle very large CSV files (billions of rows) without crashing or freezing. It offers features for bulk editing, filtering, sorting, and data cleaning.
Modern CSV: A desktop application known for its speed in loading and viewing large CSVs, even in read-only mode, with a low memory footprint. It also offers editing capabilities.
Row Zero: A next-generation spreadsheet built for big data, capable of opening CSVs with millions of rows on its free plan and handling even larger datasets on enterprise plans.

You tried Google sheets? I like it for better than Excel and they can both integrate with each other. Sheets you can use entirely web-based so as long as you've got a decent ramset in your computer it won't crash out from not having enough to work with large files. It's also a much simpler interface than Excel
