Is anyone having an issue with their System UI crashing, inner screen not turning on, or screen rotation?

This morning my phone just started acting weird and wouldn't turn on the main screen when opened, I feared the worse that my screen had physically failed but after some attempts and restarting the inner screen turned on. Only temporarily, then it struggled to switch between the inner and outer screen. At this same time my screen rotation stopped working. Even rotating the screen with auto rotation off, I didnt get the button in the navigation bar to rotate the screen.

After some googling, I wiped the cache partition and restarted the phone. To my surprise, things were a little better. The inner and outer screens were responding as they should, but still getting some system/ui not responding. Screen rotation works on the outer screen fine until opened to the main screen. After that point rotation does not work until a phone reset.

All apps, firmware, and software are up to date. Launched in safe mode and no luck. Same problem as before.

I called samsung support and was hung up on after about 10 minutes. I called back and was informed by this agent that Samsung is aware of this issue. (I'm not very confident in that, as there's no announcement made) So I'm left with waiting for an update that hopefully fixes the issue that samsung supposedly knows about.

Hopefully I'm not alone in this, it's been driving me crazy all day.

For now I've added the assistant menu button, so I can manually rotate the screen. When I manually rotate the screen with the assistant button, the main screen wallpaper is shoved up about 1/8th the screen from the bottom and appears as a black bar.

This is definitely a system UI problem as all my sensors passed their verification tests.

@SparkyDabs710 What phone do you have? and what version OS and UI do you have?

Pull down the quick menu twice to expose all the shortcuts.

If you screen is already locked in one position the icon will look like a pad lock and be labeled with the orientation, either Portrait or Landscape.

UPDATE

After reading some old forums, it appears this issue has happened at least once before with a previous update. One person recommended restarting the phone with it unfolded. Doing this has brought back screen rotation. I am still getting some black bar artifact when rotating into landscape mode on my main screen.

I've been having problems with auto rotate as well. First noticed it on You Tube failing to auto rotate. I've disabled and enabled all auto rotate configurations I can find as well as restart the phone but to no avail. None of my apps, web browsers Auto Rotate.
