Galaxy S21No, they are actually scammers hoping to rope people into giving up personal information. The best thing to do is if you get added to a random chat is block the chat, silence the chat or (if using Google Messages), mark it as spam so it goes directly to the spam folder. The important thing is to not interact with it in any way, not even to remove yourself, or else the scammers know it's a live number.

Galaxy S21Glad I'm not the only one with this issue.
I've been added 4 different times & the most recent was today.

- I've already blocked every number & it still happens.
At least when I check the notification, I'll know what it is when I see the name (I probably should've left it alone but I was **bleep**).

Galaxy S21I received the same group messages and I've used multiple texting apps including Google messages. The ONLY time this happens is when I'm using Samsung messages. It has also happened to my partner. Something fishy is going on.

Galaxy S21As as been stated in this thread (where your post may have been moved, if you made a new one), this is a phishing attempt to try to get unsuspecting people to give up personal information. Do not interact with these chats in any way, just either delete them or, if you are using Google Messages, mark them as spam and they will be relegated to the spam folder. DO NOT reply with remove me comments, do not remove yourself from the chat - just DELETE.

Galaxy S21Read the entire thread, don't just post "me too". The issue and remedy has been addressed multiple times.
You keep getting them because you are using a messaging app that has no spam blocker, I assume you are using Samsung Messages, and because no one can stop anyone from entering a number that just happens to be yours into a phone dialer or texting app and contacting you. Your only remedies in this instance is to switch messaging apps to Google Messages, turn on the spam protection, block and report these chats and delete them with no interaction with them at all.
