On 5/26, my S22 Ultra suddenly disconnected from the network. Even though it showed bars and 5G, I was unable to make calls. Occasionally, it showed "no service" at the top and a notification that "your phone's not on a registered network, so you can only make emergency calls." After a Google search, I tried:

1. Phone restart
2. Airplane mode off and on
3. Software is up to date
4. Removed SIM, wiped down, reinserted
5. Another SIM
6. Reset network settings
7. Toggled SIM on & off
8. Factory reset

Then:
9. AT&T, 2 different stores over 3 visits - every time I was in the store, it connected. But it clearly was not a network issue, so they could only offer replacement by insurance or trade in
10. Geek Squad - offered replacement, same as AT&T
11. uBreakiFix - offered to replace parts, but stated 70% of the time, it is a software error, and the phone must be replaced anyway.

I can't find any information on Samsung recognizing the issue, which seems to be quite widespread over the past year & including S23 Ultra, and offering replacement. I am out of warranty, and my extended warranty with All State has expired.

Are we going to get a class action lawsuit? Sign me up.

If the second Sim card worked it could be a faulty reader

They did change out the Sim, they even tried to install an Esim and I am still not connecting to a network. It connects intermittently for a few minutes then goes back to "emergency calls" only.

I started having this problem days ago, 8/14/25, to be exact. Are you still having this problem?

The S22 Ultra was absolutely the worst phone I've ever had. I had to have it replaced seven times in 2 years. So many hoops I had to jump through.

Looks like Samsung ot cellular carrier should be responsible for upgrading or replacement

Same here and just as I'd paid it off and gone for a sim only contract! Doesn't sit right with me. It's like they know what they're doing. Trying to get new phone sales. I'll be going to iPhone after this if it doesn't correct itself

Have you tried resetting your mobile network, or have Verizon re-provision your phone?  Did you clear your phone's cache partition after the update?
