On my new S22 I wanted to create a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account (as on my old one) to use email, contacts and the agenda with additional apps (esspecially the calendar app, I use more agendas so I need an app to combine those).

While create my account, no matter what I do, I still get the error message:
"Can't verify the account. Can't connect to your account. Check your account and serveraddresses and try again" (translated from dutch).

I've tried with different settings, even an another account from a colleague, but the error remains.
When I create my account on a phone from my colleague, theres no problem whatsoever.

What is the problem with my S22 (UI: 5.1, Android 13) and the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync? Sounds like a bug to me.

I requested our service provider to update our Exchange server.  After updating our Exchange I could finally create my MS Exchange ActiveSync account. Thanks for the tip!

I just saw that Microsoft is experiencing outages in Europe, US, and elsewhere with their Microsoft 365...maybe try again later.

We use Exchange on-premises, so that should not be the issue here

If I use my account settings on another phone from my colleague, there are no problems creating and using my account. It seems that the problem is isolated in my S22

It could be different SIM card technology or coverage. Certain models provide different capabilities for global or prepaid cellular. If it's on wifi and still works fine it is isolated to that device being the culprit

Hi Astronaut, I use the same SIM card as in my last phone (S21), no problems on that phone. Now on my new phone (the S22) with the same SIM card, I got this ActiveSync issue.
Even when I'm connected with Wifi, I still got the issue.
