Google Assistant access gesture was changed so instead of pressing and holding in the middle of my screen which is what I'm used to doing because I've been doing it for YEARS, is now a swipe gesture from the bottom left corner up but I am so used to the original that now doing that accesses the circle search that I'm probably never going to use because I don't Google search stuff that's already on my phone. How do I get Google Assistant access back to the way it was so I don't go absolutely crazy?

Depending on what navigation you used you can take a lower corner and swipe inward. 1712368969135.jpg

Sorry to say, but the location of the Google assistant can't be moved at this time. This was a Google change for circle to search to be located on the home button

So my biggest problem with that is I also have a Google nest at home, and I turned my phone voice activation off. So that I wasn't setting off two google searches at once.

I have one at home, too. Really doesn't make a difference, it will answer on the speaker, show me on my phone if it is visual.

However for example I remembered to initiate my goodbye routine once I was already in meeting so I could not use voice and swiping is NOT something I am interested in. I tried this and can't ever get anything to respond how I want or where I want. I've swiped the assistant 100 times since the new changes installed in the midst of even using my keyboard. User error? Sure I'll take the blame but I don't turn on any swipe features for this reason. I don't know how it affects people who need accessibility  features but I definitely have found other posts with the same questions. I hate it. I already gave feedback and turned circle  search off but can't re-enable the assistant only. Don't get me started on this AI being installed on my phone without asking me and now allowing the choice to not install it.
