Secure folder opening closed apps

Iโ€™ve recently started noticing an issue with apps inside Secure Folder. After I open an app, close it, and then manually lock and exit Secure Folder, the app seems to reopen itself in the background.

It continues to show up in the recent apps screen even after Iโ€™ve closed it multiple times. The only way Iโ€™ve been able to stop it is by force stopping the app. Which could potentially block it from being updated properly.

This raises a concern from a privacy and security standpointโ€”apps inside Secure Folder shouldnโ€™t be relaunching or running in the background without any user interaction.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is there a known explanation or fix? Samsung?

When you check recent apps (three vertical lines button at bottom), swipe to the app, click on the app info at the top and make sure "Keep open" or "Pin this app" are not selected.

Thanks for the suggestionโ€”neither of those settings are enabled on my end.
Whether I swipe the app away individually or use the โ€œclose allโ€ button, it still shows back up in recent apps the next time I check. Itโ€™s pretty strange. Iโ€™ve never had an app from my normal apps behave like this after being closed, so the fact that itโ€™s happening with Secure Folder apps is definitely concerning.

Sorry that didn't work out. Did this happen just after an update? If so, hope the next update fixes it. I assume you restarted the phone a few times and that also didn't help.

It started before my last security patch on April 7 and continued after, hopefully the next one takes care of it.

I applied this month's security patch on my S23 series phone and it is not showing the same behavior. Hope your phone works properly after the next update. If not, you might want to delete secure folder and set it up again from scratch, assuming it is not too much of a hassle, to see if it starts working properly again.

Good luck!
