S24 Battery Drain Post-Update

I updated to one UI7 last night and now my battery while on idle is draining extremely fast. 

Had I known this would be an issue I would have never updated to this crappy software. 

This is a major issue and like I said I can notice the extreme battery drain while the phone is idle.

If Samsung doesn't fix this issue I will be filing a claim as to me this is now a defective item that they caused.

I can't even charge my phone. It also dies quickly.

Since the latest update, I get about half the battery time than before. That's if I'm not using my phone much. If I use it for work, I have to plug the charger in multiple times per day as opposed to MAYBE once during the day.

I want to start by saying that i have had galaxy phones since the first one was rolled out. I love them and any time i have upgraded, i have insisted on getting another galaxy. That being said, this latest update has turned my phone into a frustrating hot mess. My battery drains in half the time it used to, my settings were changed, and the pull down menu is the most frustrating one I have ever had. I dont believe I should have to spend as much time as i did trying to fix the changes that i didnt choose, and that honestly make no dang sense. I would truly love to remove the update and get my settings, battery life and preferences back.

Totally agree. Horrible, horrible update. If this is the way they plan to do things in the future, I will have to look for another brand, because this is trash. Burning through battery super fast, beyond infuriating drop down menus, painfully small icons and text even at max size, ugly and hard to read/interpret battery percentage, useless NOW menu. Not the expectation I have for Samsung updates. And their customer service on X just blew smoke up my butt when I tried to report these findings. Unbelievable.

Well said. I have this brand because I cannot stand iphones, not even a little. I'm going to go ahead and start researching other brands and options now though. I'm a boomer with zero patience for technology nonsense. 😂

Yeah, the fact that I cant consistently pull down my notifications without accidentally opening my settings menu 100 times first is a deal breaker for me, immediately.

You can get the pull down bar back if you haven't figured it out already. Changed that immediately after the update

The battery optimization will be tuned after 7 to 14 days, this update reset that. Also, cool profile picture, thats an old default one. I had the same until I accidentally changed it 😔 anyways,

I understand your frustration, but bare with it. It's a much better update than you think. This was a complete overhaul on Samsung's part and the goal has been to allow a more simple straightforward way of operating your device and jas tools to help you get acclimated easily.

Bixby is designed to help you to get to know your device as best as possible. Just open the app and ask the particular settings or preferred usage and it will guide you as to where to go to help set it up as you did before. Gemini can also help.
