Galaxy S24My s24U had Samsung Cloud. All my data is backed up into it. I can see it on the Samsung Cloud website. I can see it on my S20+ in the account settings.
BUT, now, suddenly, my S24u is missing the settings under account. And the app is disabled. It's just dead. So I can't restore my data. My data is locked in the Samsung cloud & unobtainable to restore! But I can see it's there from a backup on 7/26/25
VZW says it's Samsung and they deprecated the Samsung cloud. Samsung says it's VZW and they are blocking the functionality.
The app IS on my phone but it's disabled and greyed out and you can't access it and it's matching settings within the account don't exist anymore. And they did just last week.
This is what the account interface should look like notice Samsung cloud. This is on my s20 plus right now.
here's a screenshot from a backup from the Samsung cloud on my Verizon s24 ultra just last week. So we know it worked and we know it's there.
here is a screenshot from the Samsung cloud app on my s24 ultra but it is now unusable and you can't interact with it open it enable it or do anything with it.
this is a screenshot of what the s24 ultra backup and restore area looks like now and notice no longer to Samsung cloud exist as an option it's just... Gone
According to Verizon this isn't possible because Samsung cloud hasn't worked for years. But yet here's the very proof that it has and does. According to Samsung it absolutely does work and I know for a fact it does.
So what happened?? Where did it go? How is it there just last week and now it's gone? How can Verizon say it's a no longer supported app when it is?
I now cannot restore my s24 ultra with any of the settings any of the home screens any of the app settings it's all stuck in the cloud and not accessible despite the fact the s24 ultra backup is right there in plain sight backed up into the Samsung cloud.

Galaxy S24I can absolutely and did absolutely do the Smart switch BUT Smart switch carried over some of the settings and some of the apps. It did NOT carry over access to the Samsung Cloud app. The app is there it's on my phone but it's not enabled to be accessed.
If Samsung cloud was there, and I could "restore" it would restore everything exactly the way it was including all of my settings all of my preferences all of my apps all of my home screens everything would be done instantly. I know because I've done it many times on this device and on other devices. That's a huge part of its benefit.
I've also tried a download of the apk. I can download, the s24u accepts the install BUT you're in the same situation in that you can't access it you can't enable it and you can't use it.

Galaxy S24No I use an e Sim I don't even use a physical Sim and I don't even know anybody around here who has a SIM I would be willing to ask to stick into my phone.
The only logic here is that Verizon is restricting and limiting Samsung cloud access and either they are phasing it out and I just got caught up in the process before other people?
It's just maddening to see all of my data sitting there in Samsung cloud that I put up there a matter of days ago and now I can't get it back which is exactly what Samsung cloud and the restore function is for. I really do believe contrary to what Verizon claims this has something to do with them I just don't see how Samsung could play a role in limiting that functionality remotely when they aren't the provider so they can't actually talk to my cell phone and turn anything on or off. The Verizon absolutely positively has that functionality but they swear they're not using it.
So it looks like I'm going to spend weeks slowly getting my phone back to where it was by individually resetting all of my preferences all of my settings all of my apps because the smart switch doesn't carry over all of those settings. That's precisely the beauty of the Samsung cloud backup and restore. You just hit restore and 10 minutes later everything is back the way it was from the layout the look and feel the theme the home screens your apps settings everything.

Galaxy S24I was forced to use it once because my USB port was bad. I have never relied on cloud for a backup. My phone is backed up on my computer and a flash drive. I back up the one on my computer once a month, the one on my flash drive every 2 weeks. I also use Good Lock and the HomeUp module to backup my screen settings.

Galaxy S24I understand the section you're talking about the problem is this doesn't back up and restore like the integrated Samsung Cloud functionality did. It's a different type of cloud storage. I've tried it.

Galaxy S24Yes I know where this section is I understand what you're talking about but it's not the same functionality as the Samsung built in integrated Samsung cloud function.
Not all "cloud storage" or "cloud backups" are the same. Some like Samsung Cloud that was built into the phone are more integrated soaking back up more types of data. Most cloud backup services just grab your photos your videos documents and many cloud backup services don't even do text messages call logs contacts and certainly not all of your apps or app settings. Samsung Cloud that was integrated into the phone into the settings area handled every single aspect of what needed to be backed up and essentially cloned all of that back to your new phone.
