I backed up my secure folder onto an external USB drive. It asked me to encrypt it before I made the backup. When I got a new phone, I wanted to restore my secure folder from that USB backup, but whenever I clicked on the USB storage backup I made in Smart Switch, nothing appeared for me to select. It's completely blank. I'm stuck at this point and don't know what to do. Smart things backup.jpg

Are you signed into the same Samsung account that you were when you encrypted it?

Does the Samsung account on the new device match the exact one that was on the previous device? Is that secure folder still on the other device? AFAIR, one cannot have two secure folders between two different devices.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but I have two s24 signed in with the same Samsung and Google account on each, one is designated as my daily driver and the other is designated as my backup. I have secure folders on both. On my daily driver I use secure folder virtually every day and then at the end of the month I back up just the secure folder onto a USB C drive, and restore it on to my backup s24 ultra. So I do have two secure folders on two different phones with exactly the same information in each (for a few moments anyway) LOL.

If that has changed then I will say I am incorrect on my previous comment. My understanding is that the secure folder C only reside on one device at a time.

It just dawned on me, I have secure folder on my tab A9 Plus also! Yes, same Google and same Samsung accounts.

Ok, after doing some reading, yes, the same folders can exist with same data, but each can only be modified on each device on their own. IOWs, they cannot be synced/shared between devices.

Never even considered syncing, because right now what I do is just quick share between my s24 ultra in my tab A9 Plus. It lets me Quick Share directly out of my secure folder on my s24 ultra to my tab A9 plus, but it does not go into secure folder. I have to manually move it into secure folder on the tab A9 plus.

My old phone was bricked by the one ui update that released last year. I did not update my phone until may and it was only then that my problems began.
