I've observed that a shortcut placed on the right side of my navigation bar appears to progressively decrease in size throughout the day, becoming almost imperceptible, before subsequently reverting to its original larger dimension. I am curious about the reason for this behavior.

Galaxy S25Try turning off NavStar temporarily to see if the same phenomenon occurs. It could be that customization that's causing the effect.

Galaxy S25If stickman is still functional when small, I don't see any reason why you can't keep the custom icons. Unless it's just too annoying to look at. As I said, you can change the accessibility shortcut to a floating bubble and move it to a location where it won't always be in your way.
You can also go into accessibility, advanced settings and switch the actions of the side and volume up buttons (or volume up and volume down buttons together) to trigger magnification (or the accessibility shortcut, if you use more than one accessibility option) instead of having the shortcut and get rid of stickman on the nav bar entirely. Personally, I'd opt for the vol up/down combo because you can do it one handed.
